Development of Tacton configurator began at the
Swedish institute of computer Science (SicS) in
1992, preceded by many years of configuration
application and state-of-the-art research in
knowledge based systems. Tacton Systems was founded
March 1998 as a spin-off of SicS to further
commercialize the successful Tacton configurator.

December 2005, Tacton was selected as a finalist for
the IBM Partner World beacon awards for “best
industry optimized Solution.” according to the
beacon award judges, “The Tacton configurator is an
